Fees

Kashia charges fees on top of the transaction amount. The buyer pays the base amount plus fees. The seller always receives the full base amount. All fee fields in the API are 64-bit integers (long) in kobo, like every other amount.

Fee components

Platform fee — charged by Kashia on every transaction (default 1.5%, minimum ₦100, cap ₦50,000).

Marketplace fee — optional commission set by marketplace merchants (0–20%, optional cap). Single-vendor merchants always charge 0%.

Platform fee:      ₦15,000 (1.5%)
Marketplace fee:   ₦100,000 (10%)
Buyer pays:        ₦1,115,000
Seller receives:   ₦1,000,000

The ₦50,000 platform-fee cap only bites above ₦3,333,333; the ₦100 minimum applies below ₦6,667.

Non-refundable fees

Fees are non-refundable. On refund or cancellation, the buyer receives the base amount only. Platform and marketplace fees are retained.

Per-link override

Marketplace merchants can pass merchant_fee_percentage and merchant_fee_cap when creating a payment link to override their default commission for that transaction. Single-vendor merchants sending either field get a 400 — the fields are marketplace-only.
